Astoria Compass Appoints Jenny Vance as New President

Furniture World News Desk on 8/23/2014

Astoria Compass, a leading manufacturer of custom furniture and casegoods for the hospitality and residential markets, recently  announced the appointment of Jenny Vance as president. Vance will work closely with designers, purchasing agents and the Astoria Compass’ team to ensure projects run efficiently and are tailored to clients’ needs, as well as oversee the expansion of Astoria Compass’ manufacturing facilities, including a new warehouse slated to open in Mexico this fall 2014.

“Jenny has been a great asset to our Astoria Compass family since she joined in 2007 as a project manager,” said Bob Gross, CEO of Astoria Compass. “I am confident her passion for the industry and leadership skills will pave the way for our continued growth and success.”

Vance is dedicated to her clients, applying her comprehensive knowledge of the furniture industry to ensure their success. Internally, she has implemented new strategies that foster a more vibrant company culture and focus on both quality control and seamless service. Vance has also worked to engage a premium client list and secure preferred vendor status with renowned global hospitality brands.

Prior to being appointed as president, Vance excelled in a number of leadership positions within Astoria Compass. In 2007, she joined the company as a project manager where her background in residential interior design allowed her to quickly learn and master the craft of furniture production, leading to a promotion to project director soon after. In 2011, she was appointed as vice president of Astoria Compass, charged with managing client accounts including those for global hotel brands Marriott, Hilton Hotels & Resorts, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Ritz-Carlton and Wyndham. “I’m thrilled to lead the Astoria Compass team into a new chapter of growth and expansion,” noted Vance.

Currently operating manufacturing facilities in Florida, North Carolina, Asia and Europe, Astoria Compass has the capability for production quantities of 1 to 10,000 pieces, and offers quick ship on stock and catalogued items. The new 1,076-square-foot warehouse in Mexico will produce metal furniture and hotel lobby pieces to better serve West Coast clientele. Astoria Compass anticipates they will produce up to 7,000 pieces and around 20,000 linear feet of upholstered furniture during the first year of production out of the Mexico location.
