EY announced that Abbyson Living and its management team are a semi-finalist for the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ 2014 Award in the Greater Los Angeles area. The awards program recognizes entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance and personal promise to their businesses and communities. Starting from humble grassroots 30 years ago, today Abbyson Living is currently one of the fastest growing private companies in the United States.

Abby Rafieha started the business in 1989 after a trip to Tibet. The intricate carvings and unique designs of Tibetan rugs and furniture inspired him to import and share the designs with American consumers, which was the catalyst for what would become Abbyson Living, a leading name in the furniture industry. His three sons, Yavar, Doddy and Rodd, grew up in awe of their father and were drawn to the furniture business for the ability to express their creativity.

When they each turned 16 years old, their father began training them, and at age 18 they started working at Abbyson while attending college. While Abby remains chairman of the board, in 2008, he transferred operations to Yavar, now President; Doddy, Senior Vice President and COO; and Rodd, Vice President of sales and marketing.
