CULP, Inc. Announces New Leadership Addition and Planned Transition of Division President

CULP, Inc. announces the appointment of Mary Beth Hunsberger as Executive Vice President of Culp Upholstery Fabrics, effective immediately. The company also revealed its plan for Hunsberger to take over as division president in the third quarter of the 2024 calendar year, succeeding Boyd Chumbley. Chumbley will assist in the transition throughout 2024 and will then continue to provide strategic support to the company as an advisor.
Hunsberger joins CULP with over twenty years in the home furnishings industry, most recently holding positions as President of North and South America for DEDON, Inc, and Chief Operating Officer for Gloster Furniture. Her previous experience includes a 13-year tenure with Tempur + Sealy International, Inc. She holds an MBA from Wake Forest University and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In her new role, Hunsberger will report directly to Iv Culp, President and CEO of Culp, Inc.
Chumbley, who has been with CULP since 1984, has been recognized for his significant contributions to the company’s upholstery fabrics division and his dedicated leadership. He will transition to a support role later in 2024, leveraging his extensive industry experience to provide strategic guidance.
