In any type of business, the primary goal is to sell, sell, sell. We spend our careers trying to execute the perfect strategies for selling our products to customers, and we know that when supply is low and demand is high, shoppers are in a frenzy. However, while consumers are buying in the bedding category year-round, volume isn’t consistent year-round. By leveraging key seasonal timeframes, retailers can really capitalize on opportunities to boost sales.

In our industry, we have one key opportunity each quarter to focus on seasonal selling, which, as you know, include President’s Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day and Columbus Day. The best way to maximize these opportunities is to tap into the mindset of consumers and figure out how and what they are thinking when it comes to making purchases during each major season. In February, around President’s Day, a lot of things are happening for consumers: from staying indoors during the winter season to keeping up with New Year’s Resolutions and even Spring cleaning looming just around the corner, many activities can cause anxiety and stress levels to rise. The same can be said for the remainder of our key seasonal timeframes as each involves potentially stressful situations like summer activities including family vacations, back-to-school efforts and pre-holiday preparations. Therefore, reminding the consumer how a tranquil bedroom retreat, including an adjustable base, can help them relax and de-stress provides value and increases the chance for a sale.
  • Point out key seasonal windows and how adjustable bed bases provide a solution to specific needs of the customer in discussions

  • Create point-of-sale materials that show how the features of adjustable bed bases pertain to the seasonal timeframes

  • Design product displays that highlight each seasonal window

  • Share lifestyle articles with your customers that showcase ways to transform bedrooms during the seasons
