Furniture World News Desk on 10/20/2022

High Point x Design (HPxD) is gearing up for an exciting High Point Market with the return of their VIP Hummer Tour with host Don Ricardo Massenburg, founder of Design Inkredible.

The VIP Hummer Tour kicks off on the opening day of High Point Market, Saturday, October 22, at 8am for a full day of curated stops at HPxD member showrooms via a 31-foot stretch Hummer. Hummer Tour guests are all interior design professionals from across the country.

Joining host Don Ricardo Massenburg and Jane Dagmi, Managing Director of HPxD the interior designer tour guests include Andrea Small, The Adored Nest, Kelly Schellert, Ethos Design Collective, Lauren Ashley, LA Weddings & Interiors, Laura Koshel, LK Design, Lisa Stewart, Lisa Stewart Design, Mia Johnson, Mia Johnson Home, Priscilla Baez, MPB Design Co., Sarah Storms, Styled by Storms, Tiara Holloway, Vivacious Interior by Tiara, Tiffany Brown, Brown Builders Design, Trystin Kier Francis, House of Kier, Vanessa Pierre, Vannie Paradis Design Studio

The dozen lucky winners were selected through a lottery-based open call that is mindful of diversity and inclusion, central to the HPxD movement. All of the selected interior designers are first-time Hummer Tour attendees and will be exploring High Point Market in luxurious style.

“The HPxD Hummer Tour is certainly one for the books, and I love hosting it! Not only do we make a mark simply driving through High Point in a branded stretch Hummer, but HPxD works to cultivate a VIP experience that is about camaraderie and discovering exciting brands to add to your must-see vendor list!" says Massenburg who also led the event last Fall. “Whether it’s your first trip to High Point or Market is like your homecoming, this tour is definitely an experience not to be missed.”

The Hummer Tour will begin at Splashworks, where owner and HPxD Board president Tom Van Dessel will welcome the designers before they are shuttled off to Cohab.Space for breakfast featuring Cohab's new food depot. Tour guests will get to experience Cohab’s new food truck depot in collaboration with Kitchenolgy which debuts during market from Wednesday, October 19th - Wednesday, October 25th.

Followed by stops at Antiques & Design Center, Asian Loft, and Tamarian Rugs before breaking for al fresco lunch - at Verellen where several of their “friendors” - M2C Studio and The Royals Project - are also HPxD members.

“The Verellens invited the group to lunch and Don and I thought dining outside would be a feel-good break in the day, plus the vibe is just so good there, not to mention it allows the designers to get familiar with three of our brands during one tour stop,” said Jane Dagmi, managing director of HPxD.

After lunch the tour heads to Lancaster, Oly Studio, Baker Furniture, and Codarus’s new High Point flagship, Broad Hall.

Each stop along the tour will bring the interior designers to the showroom for a private guided tour introducing them to the brands’ design talents, principals, and marketing teams. The last stop on the VIP Hummer Tour billed as “the after party,” will be at Eichholtz to coincide with their festive Philipp Plein U.S. launch celebration.

In addition to the scheduled showroom stops, many HPxD brands contribute to a special swag bag. And HPxD will also be bringing along a photographer to capture the day’s excitement and fun. All aboard!

About High Point by Design (HPXD.ORG)

High Point x Design (HPxD) is a movement of change that was born in March of 2020 when a group of friends, neighbors, and industry pros gathered on Saturday mornings and dreamed up ways to sustain the designer-brand showroom relationship during the pandemic. As a 501(c)6 organization, HPxD brings together the industry’s largest flagship showrooms, manufacturing brands, makers, and creatives who share the collective vision to activate High Point as a year-round destination for design. Through our mission, our organization impacts positive change in High Point by promoting design and sharing the city’s uniquely creative ecosystem through education, special events, and community outreach.
