Vanguard Furniture’s Solar Panel Installation Saves the Equivalent of 469 Metric Tons of Carbon Dioxide Emissions

Vanguard Furniture now has a total of 1,152 solar panels that will augment power to the two facilities. The solar array will produce over 661,900 kWh annually of clean, renewable power energy usage. The new solar electric system will offset over 469 metric tons of carbon dioxide every year that would otherwise be emitted by fossil-fuel based utility power. This impact is equivalent to saving over 1,000 barrels of oil, removing air pollution produced by over 1.2 million miles of driving, or the pollutants removed by planting 586 acres of trees annually, or powering 57 homes for a full year.

Pisgah Energy was the lead designer and developer and worked in collaboration with Eagle Solar & Light to provide construction services for the project. Eagle Solar & Light installed the project utilizing Trina Solar 415 modules on both systems.
