Shifman Welcomes Phil Zucker as General Manager

Shifman, a leading manufacturer of luxury, handmade mattresses announced that it has hired a new general manager to its team. Phil Zucker was hired in September to oversee operations.

Previously employed as president of PIC Graphic Products Ltd., Phil Zucker’s manufacturing background is rather extensive. His run with the company began 23 years ago where his initial role was operations management with a concentration in team building. To round out his experience, he was promoted to North American Sales Manager, which allowed him to build brand-awareness and expand company growth. With ten years in operations and seven years in sales, he was promoted to general manager where he focused on finance and the introduction of a new operating system. A few years later, Zucker was promoted to president where he used strategic management skills to meet the growth objectives of the organization.

The general manager position is a new stand-alone role for Shifman. As the company continues to grow it became clear to Bill Hammer, Shifman Mattress Company’s president, (who had previously fulfilled both roles) that the company required an additional person to oversee all plant and office related functions. “After learning about Phil’s extensive business experience, I knew he would be a valuable asset to Shifman. Phil’s operations management background coupled with his leadership experience makes him an ideal candidate for this position,” said Bill Hammer in a statement. “We are very pleased to have him on our team” he added.

Having been employed by Shifman for a little over a month, Zucker has already attended one High Point Market and is working to build high performance teams within the organization that focus on manufacturing excellence. When asked about his new position, Phil replied: “I’m extremely excited to work for Shifman in general management.
