Atlanta International Gift and Home Furnishings Market Ready for Summer 2019 Market

International Market Centers (IMC)reports that new and updated product categories; 120 new, expanded, relocated and renewed showrooms; improved buyer experiences and inspirational programming highlight the July 2019 staging of The Atlanta International Gift and Home Furnishings Market. The July 9-15, 2019 market features more than 8,000 brands across all categories of home décor and gift in more than 1,400 permanent showrooms and some 3,000 temporary exhibits.

“New and redefined product categories plus new and expanded showrooms have set the stage for a trend-driven, intuitive marketplace where retailers and designers can connect with the brands and resources they need for success,” said Bob Maricich, IMC CEO. “Coupled with stellar programming and updated buyer resources, the market is shaping up to be an impressive start to IMC’s summer market season.”

New Destinations Across the Campus

The July 2019 market sees the reorganization, rebrand, expansion, relocation and launch of six specialty categories. The reorganized Seasonal / Gift category features more than 120 permanent showrooms and more than 60 temporary exhibitors showing seasonal and faux botanical merchandise. The rebranded Outdoor Living and Outdoor Living LUXE feature more than 50 exhibitors showcasing products for enjoying the outdoors including gifts, home décor items, garden tools, garden accessories, outdoor lighting and casual furniture. The expanded Body & Soul LUXE doubles in size from its January 2019 launch with 26 high-end bath and body lines. The Museum Collective relocates its 12 exhibitors to Building 3, Floor 2 which positions it alongside the Museum Gifts, Handmade and Made in America collections.   The new Boutique LUXE temporaries features luxury jewelry, fashion accessories and apparel for men and women by six exhibitors.

New and Expanded Showrooms Across the Campus
Some 120 exhibitors have opened new showrooms, expanded or relocated their spaces or renewed their commitments to the Atlanta market to-date. Strong leasing has yielded updates in the general home décor and gift categories and the market’s six specialty categories: Commercial Design, The Gardens, Gourmet & Housewares, Made in America, Seasonal / Gift and Tabletop & Gift.

Home Décor features 14 new, expanded and relocated showrooms (décor brands Antiques & Interiors, Belso Home and Curated Home Brands/Square Feathers join the previously announced updates). General Gift, Specialty Gift and Home Accents & Gift features 16 new, expanded and relocated showrooms (stationery line Ink on Paper joins the previously announced updates). Commercial Design features eight new and expanded showrooms (commercial wallcoverings brand MDC joins the previously announced updates). The Gardens features ten new, expanded and relocated showrooms. Gourmet & Housewares has ten new and expanded showrooms (gourmet specialty food and gift brand Fairhope Favorites joins the previously announced updates). Made in America grows with seven new and expanded brands. Seasonal / Gift opens two news showrooms: Seasonal Abode and Bent Brush Art, G. Debrekht and Glow Décor in shared space. Tabletop & Gift has eight new and expanded showrooms. Additionally, 45 brands have renewed their commitments to IMC.

New in the Temporaries
The Market’s temporary collection features some 3,000 gift and home décor brands, nearly ten percent of whom make their Atlanta debut this July. The 33 product neighborhoods are found across 12 floors in all three AmericasMart buildings.

The addition of Boutique LUXE and the expansion of Body & Soul LUXE makes luxury products available in each of AmericasMart’s three buildings. The market’s luxury offerings are: HD Home and DÉCOR in Building 1; HIGH DESIGN and HIGH DESIGN, Tabletop, Gourmet and Outdoor Living LUXE in Building 2; Boutique and Body & Soul LUXE in Building 3.

Other highlights of the temporary collection include: ANTIQUES in Building 1; Gourmet Foods, Gourmet Housewares and Tabletop & Entertaining in Building 2; Boutique, Gentlemen’s Boutique, Handmade, Jewelry, Fashion Accessories & Apparel, Made in America, Museum Gifts and On Trend Gifts in Building 3.  

Updates and Early Results for Buyer Services
IMC’s expanded Buyer’s Services Team and new, in-house outbound Call Center in Atlanta have provided one-on-one contact with key retailers, designers, buying groups and organizations leading up to the July market.

Early results are showing in the 14 buying groups and professional organizations who will have a presence the market including True Value Home & Garden Showplace who hosts its first-ever summer market retailers meeting and the 10th anniversary of the GC Buying Group's Summer School in Atlanta. Key accounts committed to attending the market include Ace Hardware Corp., Amazon, Anthropologie, Hallmark, Kirklands, MGM Resorts, Nordstrom, Office Depot, Pier 1, Target, Total Wine & More, Tuesday Morning, QVC, Walmart, Wayfair and more.

Inspirational Programming

Shop the Show returns for its third season with a new group of design and lifestyle influencers who will shop the Market, present trend-focused seminars, meet buyers and share their experiences. AmericsMart’s showrooms are open Tuesday, July 9 – Monday, July 15, 2019 from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. (select showrooms are open until 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 11 and Friday, July 12).

Market Temporaries are open Wednesday, July 10 – Saturday, July 13, 2019, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Sunday, July 14, 2019, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
