Furniture World News Desk on 5/24/2019

Following the successful launch of interior design days in Shanghai (idd shanghai) in November 2018, the organizers of the interior business event, imm cologne, recently announced to continue the concept of idd shanghai in 2019.

Gerald Böse, President and Chief Executive Officer of Koelnmesse, says: “As the organizer of one of the world’s most important interior business events, we are delighted to open up the Chinese market to manufacturers from German-speaking countries with idd shanghai. The label “Made in Germany” is immensely popular in the dynamic Chinese market with its keen consumers and large design-savvy community. We want to leverage this excellent starting point for the German, Austrian and Swiss furniture industry and expand its contacts with China.”

As the Chinese offshoot of imm cologne, idd shanghai 2019 will be hosted from November 20 to 22, 2019 in Shanghai in parallel to the Salone del Mobile.Milano Shanghai. For three full days, idd shanghai will take up residence in an exceptional venue, 800 Show. Formed of old factory halls, the trendy building complex is centrally located in direct proximity to the Shanghai Exhibition Centre.

idd shanghai is the perfect platform for design “made in germany” with a high-quality program of talks

The exclusive event in Shanghai will focus on presenting German furniture manufacturers from the premium and luxury segment, along with Austrian and Swiss premium brands, to a design-savvy audience of Chinese designers, architects, project developers and discerning end consumers. In addition to visitors from the Shanghai area, the event will attract an audience from across the country thanks to a roadshow that Focus Media Co., Ltd. is staging in ten major Chinese cities. The manufacturers who have previously appeared at the event include names such as DEDON, DRAENERT, Jan Kath, Kettnaker, Rolf Benz, Schönbuch and Thonet.

As in the previous year, the exhibition covering the full spectrum of interior design will be accompanied by a high-quality programme of talks, organised by idd shanghai in partnership with Focus Media Co., Ltd. The line-up will feature renowned designers from both China and Germany.
