The WFC will not only see a line-up of the world’s most recognized experts giving keynote speeches but also breakout sessions and round-table discussions will allow for an animated exchange of opinions and ideas. The morning of 11th of September is dedicated to keynote speeches taking the audition on a tour-d’horizon of the current state of the industry. The afternoon sessions of the 11th and of the 12th will shed light on various issues of globalization: the impact of WTO; environmental issues and mega-trends; furniture consumption from a macro-economical perspective; IPR; new materials and technologies.
Following its first edition staged in Mallorca, Spain, in May 2006, about 250-300 international and about 500 Chinese delegates are expected to attend. Delegates will also have the opportunity to attend the opening ceremony of the 13th China International Furniture Expo, which will open its doors in the morning of September 12.

“It is a great honor for us to host the World Furniture Congress. Staging the congress in China reflects the increasing role of Asia in the furniture industry ” says Mr. Jia Qingwen President of CNFA. CNFA had invited the congress to Shanghai during an UEA workshop in Paris, early this year.
In his welcome message to the congress, Mr. Calixto Valenti, President of UEA confirms: “With an agenda that once again reflects all the concerns and preoccupations that the furniture manufacturers have in common all ofer the world, the second World Furniture Congress promises two very interesting days for us all.”
