FurnishNet, a leading provider of Internet-based supply chain solutions for home furnishings retailers, manufacturers, and suppliers, announced that they have processed over one million purchases electronically in the year 2006. This is an increase of more than 20 percent over 2005 as the company continues to expand its client base in the home furnishings industry. “We now have over 850 home furnishings businesses tied into our electronic network,” said Ron Sellers, Vice President of FurnishNet. “This milestone of a million purchases in a single year shows that more and more of the industry is taking advantage of electronic supply chain integration to speed order turnaround and lower costs.” The company now hosts over 150 retailers and over 700 manufacturers and suppliers in its digital network. Leading clients include Jerome’s, Jordan’s Furniture, Raymour and Flanigan, Ashley Home Stores, Art Van, RC Willey, Mattress Giant, Direct Buy, and others. FurnishNet integrates web applications, electronic data interchange (EDI), XML, and email into a unique "Any-to-Any" exchange for the processing of over 300 transaction types electronically between trading partners. FurnishNet is able to translate data files into appropriate formats for the electronic flow of information between trading partners of any size, running on any corporate system. Because the FurnishNet service is able to transfer data without the use of a VAN, the need for expensive EDI mapping software as well as a traditional EDI VAN network are eliminated, thereby reducing expenses and simplifying connectivity. About FurnishNet Over 850 of the nation's leading retailers and manufacturers are using FurnishNet's electronic transaction exchange solution to streamline their supply chains.
