Just as time keeps moving forward, so, to, does Oriental Weavers of America and the company’s mission to constantly bring fresh, new product to the marketplace. Approximately 50 new rugs were during the International Area Rug Market in Atlanta January 17th through the 21st, reinforcing the fact the OWA is the area rug industry leader. In 2002, new rugs will be introduced on a monthly basis. More than 300 rugs were introduced in 2001, including a new patented Nylene yarn system and the Raymond Waites license. Other elements used to assure rug buyers of the company’s commitment to excellence include the development of the OWA website; the introduction of video and electronic catalogs and the airing of Christopher Lowell shows featuring the company’s area rugs. Also, lighting the showrooms were replaced to better illuminate the rugs. The company has remained a leader in terms of fashion because they start with color and design –the most important qualities of their products. OWA is constantly working to stay ahead of trends and pride themselves on the fact that we pay enormous attention to the color trends in other segments of the industry. Colors must blend and harmonize with the other furnishings in a room. "In 2001, we saw growth in virtually every channel of distribution," said Paul D’huyvetter, senior vice president. "We plan to continue by working very closely with our customers to develop product that meets their needs. We will continue to work very closely with our customers on in-store merchandising. And we will continue to place a huge emphasis on service."
