AmericasMart announced that five-time Grammy-winner Michael McDonald will take the spotlight as the headlining performer at the inaugural ICON HONORS awards celebration, July 17, in conjunction with the Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market. His performance will set the stage for the spectacular evening of commemoration and entertainment.
McDonald, creator of hits such as "I Keep Forgetin’," "Yah Mo B There," and "On My Own," has been a fixture in American pop music for more than three decades. After emerging from the local scene, his first stint with fame came from his role in Steely Dan’s touring band, followed by award-winning songs and performances with the Doobie Brothers.
McDonald’s distinctive, recognizable voice will capture the emotions and excitement of hundreds of gift, home furnishings and area rug industry professionals attending the HONORS celebration. His concert is expected to be an epic performance for the grand debut of this international awards program, according to Jeffrey L. Portman, Sr., AmericasMart president and chief operating officer.

Following McDonald’s performance, there will be a landmark keynote address by a celebrated retailer and the anticipated awards presentation, honoring retailers, product manufactures, sales agencies in 18 individual categories.
