Kincaid Furniture, makers of fine solid wood casegoods and custom upholstered seating announced that the company’s “Classics” and “American Journal” collection catalogs were recently singled out for PICA
Awards of Excellence in the sheetfed catalog division. The awards were presented during the Printing Industry of the Carolinas (PICA) 42
nd annual banquet, held at Grandover Resort in Greensboro, NC.
Kincaid’s Creative Director, Seth Olsen, spearheaded the design direction for the two winning catalogs. “Our American Journal and Classics upholstery collections lent themselves to a more creative approach with our photography, layout and overall catalog presentation and we are proud to be recognized for these efforts.”
The “American Journal” collection’s variety of styles, from Coastal casual to traditional, along with its unexpected finish colors, provided Kincaid the opportunity to “showcase the collection in unique settings that make the furniture leap off the page,” said Olsen. The “Classics” upholstery collection, filled with intricate tailoring and finishing, is shown in rich detail in the catalog, highlighting the craftsmanship of the domestically produced line.
While Kincaid has consistently been touted for providing strong literature and sales aids , “Catalogs and other retail support materials have become increasingly important in helping retailers close sales,” asserts Todd Hady, Kincaid’s vice president of sales, “Our intention has always been to give our retailers a comprehensive and valuable set of sales tools through which they can engage their customers and ultimately increase sales. Winning these awards is a measure of our commitment to our retailers.”
The PICA awards were established in 1966 as the premier symbol for excellence in the graphics industry in the Carolinas. PICA awards are given in 35 categories covering all facets of graphics and printing arts and technologies. Hutchinson Allgood was Kincaid’s printing partner for both winning catalogs.
