Standard Furniture Ramps Up Product Development With Appointment of Jay Peters as VP Merchandising

Case goods, upholstery and motion upholstery producer Standard Furniture announced that it is strengthening its product development program with the appointment of Jay Peters as Vice President of Merchandising for all Standard Furniture brands.
Peters began his career in 1999 with Standard. He returns to the company after a successful 10-year stay as an executive in merchandising for a top 100 furniture retailer. He is the grandson of Mack Hodgson, who founded Standard Furniture in 1946.
“Standard Furniture has roots that run deep in this industry. I am thrilled to return to the place where I started my career. Being able to bring my 20 years of furniture knowledge back to Standard will help us deliver the right value, style, and quality to our retail partners. Under Peters’ leadership, Standard will focus on product categories that align with its core competencies that fill the needs of its retail partners and consumers.
