MEGA Group USA recently announced what’s in store for its retailers over their four-day event in New Orleans. The Show begins on Monday, March 27 with the annual MEGA golf tournament at TPC Louisiana that pairs retailers and vendors together for an afternoon of fun, followed by a welcome reception for members at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside.
Day two is focused around business-building sessions designed to help retailers tackle the challenges they face; learn from various leaders in marketing, finance, leadership, merchandising and more; and then execute those learnings effectively. There are 46 training breakouts available for members to choose from throughout the course of the day. Topics range from how to pick up share with the demise of national players like Sears and HHGregg , solid financial planning, to how to make the most of marketing dollars to drive sales.
MEGA will also introduce two new categories for members aimed at positioning them for greater profitability. Members will have the chance to learn more during training sessions and see the new product categories first-hand during the buying show later in the week. “These two new vendors offer products that fit well with the MEGA ‘whole home’ strategy,” says Mallory Parker, executive vice president at MEGA. “Both categories offer products with a built-in customer base because of the recognized brand names. We believe these lines will create a new wave of traffic to our retailers as well as present new profit opportunities through incremental sales.”
On Tuesday, MEGA also welcomes George Anderson from Synchrony Financial and Kevin Lao from Google who will both be featured keynote speakers. Anderson is tapped to inspire the membership and encourage boldness and an innovative mentality, while Lao will share with retailers how to harness the power of the search engine to reach consumers.
The week rounds out with the buy show kicked off with MEGA Madness, a member favorite featuring hot buys on limited merchandise. On Wednesday and Thursday, MEGA moves to the New Orleans Convention Center for its buy show, hosting 100 different vendors representing consumer electronics, major appliances, furniture and home décor, bedding, marketing, finance and other business services.
