Fine Cotton Factory Earns Coveted “GOTS” Organic Certification

Fine Cotton Factory, a textiles manufacturer, reports that it has recently completed the certification process and received the coveted Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certification which entitles the company to offer GOTS certified fabrics. Fine Cotton Factory’s mattress ticking, and its washing and knitting processes, are covered by the certification GOTS certification ensures organic, environmental, and social responsible manufacturing of textiles, from growing through production, packaging, labeling, and distribution of all organic fibers to provide a credible assurance to the consumer.

GOTS is the global organic standard for fabrics for home textiles and apparel made with organic fiber and includes both environmental and social criteria. Key provisions include a ban on the use of genetically modified organisms, hazardous chemicals, and labor standards, while requiring strong social compliance management systems and strict waste water treatment practices. Recognized worldwide as the leading processing standard for textiles made with organic fibers, GOTS certification enables consumers to purchase items that are certified organic from field to finished product.
