Lane Furniture Promotion Gives Back To Wounded Vets

Furniture World News Desk on 4/15/2015

This Market, Lane Furniture has teamed with Five-Time, All-Pro Defensive End Chicago Bears football player Jared Allen for a special promotion to give back to wounded U.S. veterans. The company is introducing an all-new ComfortKing™ recliner named the Valor™, and earmarking 20 percent of proceeds to benefit Jared Allen’s Homes for Wounded Warriors (JAH4WW).

Lane’s game plan includes kicking off Opening Day of Market with flying colors—quite literally—with a ceremony featuring the Oak Ridge Military Academy Color Guard at 10:15 a.m. The Chicago Bears star will be on hand in the Lane showroom (IHFC 6th Floor) throughout the day, meeting with media and buyers, and signing footballs for fans.

Jared Allen’s Homes for Wounded Warriors was formed in October of 2009, following Allen’s return home from his USO trip to US military bases in the Middle East. Hailing from a long line of veterans, Allen himself would have been destined for military service had it not been for another kind of draft, that of the NFL. Moved by what he experienced, along with the commitment, dedication and sacrifices that our soldiers make every day to protect our freedom, he founded Jared Allen’s Homes for Wounded Warriors.

The foundation provides financial assistance and support to injured United States military veterans by building and remodeling handicap accessible homes to suit their individual needs one wounded warrior at a time. By embracing the conflict and making a positive life-changing difference in the lives of those who need it most, Allen and his JAH4WW team are devoted to making life for wounded vets just a little bit easier, while encouraging others to get involved. In the near future, JAH4WW and Heritage Home Group will build or remodel a handicap accessible home for an injured United States military veteran here in North Carolina.

According to Lane executives, the Valor™ ComfortKing™ Recliner is armed with extra-firm cushions in the seat, a tufted back and padded chaise ottoman. Built strong to hold up to 500 pounds, the recliner features a steel seat box with steel-supported arms using the same gauge of steel commonly used in heavy-duty pick-up trucks. Indeed, the recliner is so strong and stable, Allen himself can stand on the arm of the recliner and it will not tip over. A drop-in coil seat spring system ensures the ultimate in comfort along with unmatched durability. Proudly made in the U.S., and offered in the EZ Lane® program, making customization quick and simple, the Valor ™recliner is available to ship within one week of the committed availability date.

Among other fresh and innovative collections and turn-key programs this Market, Lane’s product strategy includes the Galileo, a zero-gravity recliner outfitted with a comfortable padded chaise ottoman and tufted back, sporting a narrow arm and transitional look at home in any space. The Houston Motion Group features generously padded seats, chaise and full chaise footrests with a unique stitch pattern and clean tailoring. Power recline is an option here for luxurious ease of operation and all the right moves. Brisbane and Montenegro are two new motion sofas covered in buttery soft leather. Both are characterized by impeccable tailoring, luxurious seating, chaise footrests and fully padded arms.

Lane says it intends an end run around its competitors in the leather category as well. Tanner’s Choice is a new, premium, turnkey leather program specifically tailored to build the business for upholstery dealers. Built in the U.S., the program features 100 percent top-grain leather from South America everywhere you touch, including front arm panels, with vinyl matching on sides and back. Including 25 leather options in two grades on 40 separate pieces, the program also offers retailers quick delivery time.
