Hammary, a La-Z-Boy company, announced the introduction of the Low Country collection in partnership with National Trust - Design in America™, for the National Trust for Historic Preservation. The Design in America furniture collection is inspired by the many historic sites and places that the National Trust has preserved. Embracing the style and ease of the South Carolina coastal region, the Low Country collection brings an updated attitude to furniture steeped in tradition. Drawing inspiration from the historic Beaufort Inn in Beaufort, South Carolina, and the many antique shops that call the city home, Low Country updates a true American classic for today's home. Taking its design cues from the rich mix of influences that impacted the coastal region around Charleston, the collection features three distinct finishes: Acorn, a light, sun-bleached finish with an aged patina; Antique, a more traditional and refined hand-rubbed finish; and Weathered, with a distressed, worn patina. Custom hardware further enhances the comfortable familiarity of the presentation of the case goods. "Hammary's Low Country collection is an updated interpretation of diverse English, French and Caribbean influences," said Hammary's President, John Labarowski. "We've used Mahogany, Cherry and figured Anegre veneers with distinctive carved and turned detailing to give these pieces an historical feel with functionality that works for today's home," he added. Hammary is targeting better department and furniture specialty stores for the collection deriving inspiration from the National Trust's historic sites, Historic Hotels of America and other affiliated sites. The Low Country collection will be launched at the October High Point Furniture Market. "We are thrilled to continue our relationship with Hammary," said Miriam Lenett, Director of Business Development for the National Trust. "Their vision for the Low Country collection brings this distinctly American style to the modern consumer." The International full-service licensing company MODA, helped to bring the two strategic partners together for this opportunity. "The Low Country collection enhances Hammary's portfolio as the 'source for American-designed furniture,'" stated Michelle Alfandari, President of MODA International Marketing. "Taking inspiration from the National Trust - Design in America(TM), Hammary continues the legacy of American Design with product relevant for today's consumer."
