IKEA Home Furnishings has taken another step in helping people incorporate their personal lives and interests into home design. With the introduction of their new "Pets & People" range, IKEA now offers pet lovers a variety of accessories and products to help give their pets a greater sense of belonging by becoming true members of the family. IKEA designers, pet experts and pet lovers helped develop the "Pets & People" range with the mantra, "the more you give, the more they give." The more that people understand their pets, by being attentive to their needs, the more love and joy they will receive in return. This helps to create a better everyday life at home - for everyone. The range, which is specially tailored to modern interiors, modern needs and limited budgets, is divided into three product categories: •Eat & Store - includes pet food storage containers, bowls, place mats and hooks to hang a leash, collar or just about anything. •Walk & Play - includes toys for play such as Frisbees, bite-rope (pull toys), soft toys and scratching figures, as well as leashes and collars. •Sleep & Care - includes rugs, baskets and cushions for sleeping on or in, blankets, bath towels and pawcloths (for wiping your pets face or "feet"). "IKEA has always been recognized as a family-friendly company and we know just how much pets are a part of the family," explained Gunnel Hasselbalch, PR Manager, IKEA North America. "Our new 'Pets & People' range provides our customers with even more options and convenience to best fit everyone's needs, including the "furrier" family member." The IKEA Pets & People range can be found in IKEA Marketplace and is currently available in all IKEA US stores, except Houston. IKEA, the leading home furnishings retailer founded in 1943, offers a wide range of home furnishings and accessories of good design and function, at prices so low that the majority of the people can afford them. In 2003, IKEA was named in Working Mother magazine's 18th annual list of the "100 Best Companies for Working Mothers" and was honored with the magazine's Family Champion award for family-friendly programs. IKEA has more than 190 stores in 43 countries with 18 U.S. stores and 11 Canadian stores. IKEA is currently implementing an aggressive expansion plan to open 50 new stores in North America. IKEA supports responsible business practices and innovative initiatives that help protect our environment and the future for children around the world.
