Temporary Resources Expanding in Pavilions at Las Vegas Market

Las Vegas Market announced that a wealth of new and returning exhibitors will be among the nearly 600 temporary gift and home exhibitors in the Pavilions for Winter 2019 Las Vegas Market, running Jan. 27 – Jan. 31, 2019. Notably this January, an increased number of suppliers of jewelry and fashion accessories – totaling almost 200, nearly half of which are new or returning from a market hiatus – will show in the Pavilions.

“The Pavilions are truly a must-see destination at Las Vegas Market, and with temporary exhibit leasing pacing at an all-time high, we’ll have more home furnishings and gift resources available than ever before, as well as an influx of new and returning jewelry resources,” said Jo Ann Miller Marshall, president of tradeshow leasing for International Market Centers. “As the leading home furnishings and gift market in the western U.S., Las Vegas Market offers retailers and designers access to unique and on-trend products to help them differentiate from competitors.”

As noted in Gifts and Decorative Accessories’ “2018 Today’s Gift Retailer” survey, jewelry is the fastest growing product in the fashion accent category, with 62 percent of retailers polled saying they plan to expand the product over the next year. In line with this industry trend, Las Vegas Market has seen a surge in the jewelry and fashion accessories categories within its temporary exhibits, and Winter Market will showcase 140 jewelry suppliers in Pavilion 1, and another 60 jewelry suppliers in Pavilion 2. Notable exhibitors include: America & Beyond; American Glory Handbags; Barbie and Bella; Bed Stu; Butik Showroom; Cranston Jewelry Mfg.; Harlow Jewelry; Hobo Bags; La Nazar; and LB Originals.

Pavilion 1 showcases GIFT, DESIGN LIFESTYLE and HANDMADE and Pavilion 2 features HOME, DESIGN HOME and DISCOVERIES: The Antique Vintage Marketplace. In addition to resources, the Pavilions will feature a robust schedule of seminars and events. The Pavilions at Las Vegas Market are open Jan. 27 – Jan. 30, 2019. Hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Sunday to Tuesday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday.

PAVILION ONE: GIFT, DESIGN LIFESTYLE and HANDMADE

Pavilion 1 will feature fashion accessories, jewelry, tabletop, housewares, gourmet foods, personal care and stationery products, among other lines. It will also present resources in the popular Artisanal L.A. pop-up show. In total, Pavilion 1 will present more than 300 exhibitors in 48,000+ net square feet of exhibit space.

GIFT will feature more than 180 exhibitors. For the first time this January, Las Vegas Market is partnering with Kite Trade Association International (KTAI) to bring 20 makers and designers of wind-related products to Pavilion 1. Confirmed KTAI exhibitors include: Arrowcopter Inc.; Brainstorm Products; HQ Kites & Designs USA; In the Breeze; Into the Wind; Magnum Enterprises and Premier Kites. KTAI is a non-profit organization based in Oregon that exists to support and promote the manufacturing, distribution and retailing of kites and wind-related products.

DESIGN LIFESTYLE will showcase 30 companies. New and notable exhibitors include: American Design Club; Blomus; Cognitive Surplus; Cose Nuove; Dock and Bay; Fiorentina; Good Company Wares; Lund London; Nambe and W&P Design.

HANDMADE will present more than 100 artisans, the category’s largest–ever presentation. Newcomers to Las Vegas Market include: Belle & Beast Organics; Caribbean Craft; Drinking Straws; The Global Trunk; Haratimata Handicraft Udyog; Indika; Jendela; Lilly Barrack Ltd; Meredith Strauss; Momma Pots; Silk Wool and Bijoux; Stylish Girl; Veronica Riley Marteens and Zaaina. HANDMADE also features the Aid to Artisans Showcase with works from innovative and emerging artisans from around the world.

A highlight of Pavilion 1 will be the popular Artisanal LA (ALA), a Los Angeles pop-up show featuring Los Angeles-based new-to-Market exhibitors. PAVILION TWO: HOME, DESIGN HOME and DISCOVERIES: THE ANTIQUE VINTAGE MARKETPLACE

Pavilion 2 will showcase home décor product categories, including accent furniture, antiques, decorative accessories, faux botanicals, home décor, jewelry, lighting, one-of-a-kind products, rugs, tabletop, textiles, vintage items and wall decor. In total, Pavilion 2 will showcase more than 225 exhibitors in nearly 50,000 net square feet of exhibit space.

HOME and DESIGN HOME will feature nearly 100 exhibitors. DISCOVERIES: The Antique Vintage Marketplace will feature 125-150 exhibitors, offering buyers a cohesive shopping experience with exhibitors covering the Antiquities, Vintage, Global and Cash & Carry categories. Pavilions Packed with Seminars, Events for Winter Market

The Pavilions also will host a slate of special programming at Winter Market, including three educational seminars, four guided product tours and three buyer hospitality events.

On Sunday, Jan. 27, Andrew Andoniadis of Andoniadis Retail Services will present Focus Your Product Selection for Profitability from 1 to 2 p.m., exploring when to expand, contract or eliminate product categories to enhance the profitability of your store. From 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., a Stationery Trends Retail Discussion, led by Sarah Schwartz, editor in chief and founding editor of Stationery Trends, will explore stationery retailing and industry trends with a panel of successful social stationery retailers. From 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Becky Tyre, retail editor of Gifts and Decorative Accessories, will present Modern Merchandising: 10 Stores that are Doing It Right! with images and specifics about how savvy proprietors keep customers coming back for more.

On Monday, Jan. 28, the Market’s popular Meet the Makers luncheon presentation returns from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Panelists Diane Sulg of CRAFT; Carlos Arias, founder of Inspired Peru; Laurie Kanes, founder of 12 Small Things; and Rachel Hoffman, co-owner of Turn of the Century Antiques in Denver, will discuss trends in the maker movement and how artisans are now able to enter the marketplace on a larger scale, the challenges and successes of being a creative, trends in artisanal products, and today’s buying trends. The session will be moderated by Lenise Willis, editor in chief of Gifts and Decorative Accessories.

On Tuesday, Jan. 29, Selling Fashion for Fun and Profit will be presented from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Carol L. Schroeder, owner of Orange Tree Imports and author of Specialty Shop Retailing, will address ways retailers can add clothing and accessories to a merchandise mix in order to capitalize on growing industry demand for jewelry resources.

Guide product tours happening at the Pavilions include Healthcare Gift Guide: Top Picks for Hospital Gift Shops, led by John Klos at Saint Francis Health System and hosted by Association for Healthcare Volunteer Resource Professionals (AHVRP), on Sunday, January 27, from 2:30 to 4:00 p.m.; Curated Docent Tour – Top Museum Store Product with Jennifer Gritt of Pittock Mansion from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Monday, Jan. 28.; A first-ever Meet the Makers Tour – Experience the Creativity led by Becky Tyre from 2:30 to 4 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 28;and Touring the Trends with RUE Magazine, led by managing editor Kelli Lamb on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. All tours have limited capacities and advance registration is required.
