Cylindo Raises New Funding to Invest Further in Automation and 3D Experiences

Furniture World News Desk on 12/20/2018

Cylindo, a 3D product visualization platform for e-commerce, announced that it has raised a new funding round to invest further in automation and create immersive 3D experiences.

The funding represents another major milestone for the company, after doubling revenue two years in a row.

“Online sales are growing double digits yearly. It’s predicted that e-commerce will account for $294B in furniture sales by 2022, and soon experience will overtake price and product as a key brand differentiator. The most important thing you need to sell your product online is being able to visualize it.” - said Janus Jagd, Cylindo’s CEO.

Product visualization has been one of the biggest pain points for bridging the online-offline customer experience gap. Today Top 100 retailers like Ethan Allen and Living Spaces, brands like Century Furniture, Ligne Roset, and online-first players like Interior Define are using the Cylindo platform to visualize an unlimited number of product variations. Cylindo's 3D technology goes beyond powering 360 views on a product page. Using smart tools clients support their omnichannel strategies by leveraging superior quality visual assets across various interfaces and platforms - product feeds, cart thumbs, augmented reality apps and marketplaces, thus creating a consistent shopping experience at every touchpoint.

“If we look at our technology today, we can talk about the most scalable high-quality pipeline in the world, reaching 2 quintillion unique, photorealistic 4K product renderings, in the last year. But there’s still a huge underserved market, which is why we’re investing in automating the content creation technology further to keep up with the demand. Making things easy for the customer is in our DNA, so we are soon expanding our platform offering with a plug-and-play augmented reality feature that will reinvent the online customer experience.” - said Janus Jagd.

The round was primarily led by existing investors, which includes Commerce VC, LiteCap and David Helgason in the group,  as well as new investors: Peter Hartzbech (founder of iMotions), Jens Karstoft (founder of Zmags), Mike Buckley (former VP, Facebook), Oliver Kofoed Pedersen (founder Playerscale) and Christian Legene (founder of Autobutler) - all successful serial technology entrepreneurs.

“Cylindo has built great technology that’s solving a big pain point, and it’s becoming an essential part of any online retailer’s go-to-market. They have a strong product and team, a clear vision on how to scale the platform, and are well positioned to become the market leader for product visualization” - said Mike Buckley, former VP at Facebook, and a new investor in Cylindo.
