Sleep technology specialist Ergomotion announced that it is using the upcoming High Point Market, Oct. 13-17, to focus on traditional furniture retailers interested in taking greater advantage of the boom in adjustable base sales. It will be showcasing its cutting-edge motion bedroom furniture lineup that features bed bases designed specifically for bedroom furniture groups, allowing retailers to capture add-on bedroom sales without adding floor space.

“High Point remains a key market for us as we continue to grow our presence in the furniture retail channel. Many furniture retailers have not taken full advantage of the growth in the adjustable base category because a large portion of their sleep product sales revolve around furniture groups, not just selling mattresses,” said Johnny Griggs, chief operating officer of Ergomotion. “So, when the consumer saw an adjustable base in the mattress department, but loved the furniture group, there was not, until now, a good option for adding an adjustable base to the furniture. We have found that solution and we believe the opportunity for significant retail sales growth for that dealer.”

Taking center stage in the Ergomotion showroom will be the Contour Pure Slim, a motion bedroom base featuring the proprietary Extension Deck Technology. The deck extends as the head of the bed rises, which minimizes mattress bridging and reduces compression of the sleeper’s midsection.

In addition to Extension Deck Technology, the Contour Pure Slim has head and foot articulation and can move to the zero-gravity position. It need no clearance space for a wall, and its wireless remote includes a one-touch button that restores the bed to the flat position. Plus, the base is compatible with Amazon’s Alexa, and includes more than 25 cubic feet of under-bed storage space.

The Contour Pure Slim and other motion bedroom products can be seen in Ergomotion’s High Point showroom, space M-636 of the International Home Furnishings Center.
