Serta Simmons Bedding Names Chief Sales Officer

Serta Simmons Bedding recently announced the appointment of Dan Horan as its chief sales officer, following an extensive search. The appointment is effective August 20. Horan will report to SSB CEO Michael Traub.
Horan brings more than 20 years of sales and marketing experience in consumer products, most recently with Samsung Electronics America as Vice President for U.S. Home Appliance Sales, where he led the retail sales organization for the #1 brand in home appliances. Prior to this leadership role, Horan was Vice President and General Manager of Samsung’s Home Appliance business unit for The Home Depot.
“Dan brings a wealth of sales experience to SSB, and we look forward to his contributions in setting a best-in-class sales strategy that grows relationships with our retail partners,” said SSB CEO Michael Traub. “I am confident in Dan’s ability to provide SSB with leadership and insights that will help us deliver profitable growth and extend our market leadership position,” Traub added.
In addition to Horan’s previous roles with Samsung, he also held consumer products leadership roles with Sears Holdings, Fiskars, Spectrum Brands and Black+Decker, among other companies. Horan earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Miami, and his master’s degree in business administration from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
