Fresh Designs on Tap for Capel Rugs at High Point Market

Capel Rugs announced that it is expanding its assortment of promotionally priced machine-made rugs as well as more upscale hand-tufted models with a variety of dynamic new transitional and traditional designs at the October High Point Market. Capel's showroom is located at Market Square, Space 112.

Leading off the slate of introductions is Azari, a nine-rug collection that is hand-tufted in India of 100% wool. Inspired by vintage Persian designs, the traditional collection includes two patterns -- Isfahan and Keshan -- in a range of rich colors and fresh accents. Colorways include celedon, gray, dark sapphire, copper, evergeen, pewter, ink, oxford tan and terra cotta.

"Azari embraces the rich traditions of the past and carries them forward to fit with today's more relaxed lifestyles and living spaces," said Cameron Capel, President - Sales and Marketing for Capel Rugs. "The collection is a perfect synthesis of classic Persian styles, from all corners of this storied ancient empire, with the quality construction our customers have come to expect from Capel Rugs."

"Retailers are eager to freshen up their stores, and there's no better way to do it than with eye-catching, fashion-forward rugs. To help them out, we're bringing out a carefully curated assortment of new patterns and colors packed with the value and fashion that retailers and designers need to generate excitement with their customers."

Also on tap for High Point is Zenith, a timely collection featuring a plush high-low texture and a lively blending of natural colors. The raised patterning of the design adds flair as well as a feeling of movement and fluidity. The Zenith collection is machine made in Turkey on Wilton looms using a mix of 90% polyester and 10% olefin yarns.

"These beautiful area rugs will impart a luminous feeling wherever they are placed," added Capel.

Zenith includes four patterns -- Heriz, Lava, Lineal and Sarouk -- in transitional and traditional styling. Six colorways are available -- mist, smoke, multi, oyster, glacier and slate. A 5'3" x 7'10" model may retail for under $399, and other sizes include 2'7" x 10', 7'10" x 10' and 9''6" x 13'1".

Another machine-made collection debuting in High Point is Bosphorus. Made in the U.S.A. on Wilton power looms, these rugs use space dyed polyester to create deep and rich tones with a soft hand. The Bosphorus collection includes three patterns and nine colorways: Bahktiar in navy, chocolate and terra cotta; Heriz in ivory, natural and rust; Ispahan in aqua; and Keshan in blue and stone.

"These rugs are as durable as they are soft to the touch," said Capel. "The collection features an intriguing mix of traditional rug designs such as Heriz, Ispahan, Keshan and Bahktiar inspired by the Bosphorus Strait area of northwestern Turkey. That's where classic rugs such as these first made their way through the city of Istanbul, the crossroads of trade that connects the European continent to Asia." Sizes include 2'1" x 7'10", 3'5" x 5'2", 5'3" x 7'10" and 8' x 11' models, and a 5'3" x 7'10" model may retail for under $499.

At the market, Capel Rugs is also adding five new patterns in seven robustly blended colorways to its popular Avanti collection of hand-tufted, all wool designs. The new patterns are Charlotte in a cloud colorway; Fiesta in gray multi; Mahal in teal and silver; Serapi in misty blue and ink; and Kazak in ocean.  Standard sizes include 2'6" x 8', 3'6' x 5'6", 5' x 8', 8' x 10', 9' x 12' and 10' x 14'. Avanti can also be ordered in custom sizes to fit any space.

In addition to these new rug designs, Capel Rugs is introducing a new custom program for select models in its Metropolis collection. There will be five options available: Mirage, in a cream colorway; Skyline, in slate and cream; and Victoria, in indigo and oyster.

Production time for orders will be three weeks, and rugs will be finished with serging yarns. The maximum width being offered is 13'1", along with nearly any length. A minimum order of 24 square feet is requested.
