Downtown Company to Launch Corey Damen Jenkins Collection

DownTown Company, celebrating its 31st year as a designer and manufacturer of high quality top of the bed products, textiles, upholstered beds and bath/spa products, has announced an association with designer extraordinaire, Corey Damen Jenkins. The illustrious designer will make his mark in the bedding category with his designer collection set to launch at the High Point Market June 5-9, 2021.
Jenkins new collection for DownTown showcases two new patterns in decorative pillows, shams and duvet applications. “Alyvia” and “Storm” are two distinctive patterns. Alyvia (pronounced: ‘Olivia’) is an art-deco themed bold pattern in a signature CDJ color way that features emerald green, black and white. Storm highlights a bold geometric pattern and is offered in the identical color way as Alyvia as well as, a more neutral palette of grays and taupe.
“I’m thrilled to be collaborating with DownTown Company to create this bespoke designer collection,” remarks Corey Damen Jenkins. “In choosing a partner for this endeavor, it was very important that the manufacturer embraced a high standard of quality, and would approach this relationship with a certain measure of fearlessness in terms of my designs. Thankfully, the women of DownTown Company more than meet these criteria; and I can’t wait for everyone to see what we’ve created!”
“Instant chemistry is how I would describe meeting Corey a year and a half ago in our Las Vegas showroom”, says DownTown COO Edythe Jacobs. Continuing with a twinkle in her eye, she remarks, “I imagine everyone feels that way when they meet Corey. He touched his way around our showroom with excitement and in his soft-spoken manner he shared his delight at the quality of our bedding. We sat down, and Ellen and I shared everything about the company, our key management team, who happen to be women including my very long-time and dear friend Esther Brach who founded the
Company more than 30-years ago. His eyes just lit up as he heard our story, as did ours as he shared his story. We all met in NYC on March 3rd, in 2020, and put our plan together. And then Covid happened. Like the next day! I truly can’t begin to tell you how excited we are to finally launch Corey’s first collection for DownTown at the June High Point Market.”
DownTown Company is hosting a brunch reception, adhering to all CDC guidelines, with Corey on Sunday morning at 10:30 June 6th in its second floor IHFC showroom at W254.
