High Point Market Authority Releases the High Point Market Style Report for Winter/Spring 2020

Furniture World News Desk on 12/9/2019

The High Point Market Authority (HPMA) announced that has released this season’s \High Point Market Style Report for Winter/Spring 2020.

This 43-page report was developed by eight trend tracking experts, all part of the HPMA’s 2019 Style Spotters team, who scoured the Fall High Point Market, October 19-23, for the hottest must-have items and then translated their picks into today’s top trends. The report highlights 24 different trends, ranging from “Paris is Burning” to “A Woven World”, from “Animal Attraction Action” to “Merlot Madness”, and more. In all, the report features 95 different products from 58 different High Point Market exhibitors. All trends in the Style Report for Winter/Spring 2020 may be found and downloaded at https://highpointmarket.org/products-and-trends/winter-spring-2020-style-report.

“Texture and statement case good pieces were the talk of the town. Caning on everything from chairs to beds – reinterpreted in ways that made it easy to use in designs outside of a coastal aesthetic – was prevalent in most of the major showrooms,” commented Style Spotters Advisors Shay Geyer and Gary Inman in their intro for the report. “Pieces with fluid and organic forms were spotted for their unique high style, and large-scaled hardware adorned case goods that stopped us in our tracks.”

Style Spotters who contributed to the Style Report for Winter/Spring 2020 include:

  • Shay Geyer, IBB Design Fine Furnishings
  • Gary Inman, Baskervill
  • Shayla Copas, Shayla Copas Interiors
  • Kara Cox, Kara Cox Interiors
  • Cynthia Ferguson, Cynthia Ferguson Designs
  • Eric Haydel, Eric Haydel Design
  • Benjamin Johnston, Benjamin Johnston Design LLC
  • Courtney McLeod, Right Meets Left Interior Design
  • Laura Thurman, Thurman Design Studio LLC

The Style Spotters program, launched during the October 2011 Market, features home fashion pace setters that showcase their favorite products and top trends from High Point Market exhibitors via Pinterest, their Style Spotter Stories, the at-Market Style Spotters LIVE! event, this post-Market Style Report, and various media interviews.

Mentored by Shay Geyer and Gary Inman, program alumni and HPMA’s Style Spotters Advisors, each Style Spotter serves for two Markets over a calendar year. When they source a treasure at Market, they present exhibitors with a sign that highlights the Style Spotter’s name with a QR code and URL for the High Point Market Pinterest board. The Winter/Spring Pinterest boards can be found at www.pinterest.com/highpointmarket.

The Style Spotters program is sponsored by Crypton, Inc. and Studio Designer. Program information is available at www.highpointmarket.org/products-and-trends/style-spotters-spotters-hub.
