Mattress producer Kingsdown announced that it is adding two models to its popular Prime Collection, which focuses on hybrids at price points under $1,000 in queen. Beds in the collection feature gel-infused memory foam in the lumbar support zone for additional support.

The newest models, targeting the $699 and $899 price points, deliver a firm and cushion firm feel, respectively, and feature tight top and Euro-top construction.

“This line extension rounds out an already successful collection with two more firmness choices, giving our dealers and consumers an even wider array of comfort options,” said Frank Hood, chief executive officer of Kingsdown. “Our cutting-edge design and manufacturing capabilities enable us to deliver supportive sleep at a great value in the popular hybrid category.”

In addition to the gel-infused memory foam, all mattresses in the Prime Collection feature individually wrapped coils and various types of Fitness Foam™, a polyurethane that provides support and reduces pressure. The coil unit, which has three different gauges of wire, features tri-zone construction with a posturized center for additional lower back support.

The heaviest-gauge coils are around the perimeter of the unit, allowing for an edge-to-edge sleeping surface.

One new model, the $699 Destan, also has gel-infused polyester fiber in the quilting, while the other new entry, the $899 Welliver, includes a layer of Adaptive Foam in the lumbar area. Adaptive Foam dissipates body heat and reduces pressure points.

The Prime Collection will be showcased in Kingsdown’s High Point Market showroom, space M-528 of the International Home Furnishings Center. The market takes place Oct. 19-23.
