Dorel Home Products (Dhp) Partners With Vermont-Based “One Tree Planted” to Help Fund Reforestation Projects

Furniture World News Desk on 4/6/2019

Reinforcing the eco-friendly message delivered by its new Signature Sleep Honest mattress line, Dorel Home Products (DHP) announced that it will team with Vermont-based non-profit group One Tree Planted to plant a tree for every Honest mattress sold. The trees will be part of reforestation projects funded by the group across four continents.

The Signature Sleep Honest line, which will be unveiled at the April High Point Market, features ethically sourced natural and organic ingredients and is designed to appeal to environmentally-conscious consumers who prefer earth-friendly bedding alternatives while not compromising comfort and value.

“Signature Sleep is proud to partner with One Tree Planted and looking forward to making a small yet meaningful impact on the environment with each of its Honest line of mattresses sold,” said Nick Fiore, vice president of sales, marketing and product development at DHP.

Based in Shelburne, Vermont, One Tree Planted’s mission is to make it simple for people to help the environment. The organization works with reforestation groups throughout the world, concentrating on areas heavily damaged by forest fires or floods. The group works with its reforestation partners to ensure the plantings have an 80 percent to 85 percent survival rate, and it has helped fund projects in North America, South America, Asia and Africa.

The Signature Sleep Honest line, handcrafted in California, features a 7-inch adult mattress with an independently encased micro-coil system cushioned with organic cotton and chemical-free natural wool. The juvenile mattress includes latex-infused components with natural coconut fibers, in addition to the organic cotton and chemical-free natural wool. The wool in both mattresses acts as a natural fire barrier, eliminating the need for fire-retardant chemicals.

DHP’s High Point showroom is space 9A of the C&D Building.
