Industry veterans, Bob O’Neill, and his son, Rob O’Neill, have rejoined Leggett & Platt’s Consumer Products Group (CPG). Bob has been named to the position of “Sr. Vice President of Sales” for the Top of Bed Division (TOB). His main focus will be on the 4 “top of bed” categories within the CPG, which include mattress protectors, sheets, pillows and fashion ensembles. Additionally, as a senior level sales VP, he will help assist and identify new opportunities with accounts on the CPG’s bedding support, and ornamental bed categories. Rob O’Neill has accepted the position of “Vice President of Product Development & Merchandising” for the CPG’s Top of Bed Division. His primary responsibilities will include product selection and introduction of the 4 top of bed categories mentioned above. He will also be responsible for understanding end markets; distribution channels; tracking trends that affect style and consumer tastes; packaging; point of sale materials, and product literature. Both Bob, and Rob will headquarter at Leggett’s Southern Textiles facility in Forsyth, GA. In a related move, Richard Downing, formerly the President of Leggett’s Top of Bed Division, has accepted an expanded role as Sr. Vice President of Sales for the Consumer Products Group. This position includes the sale of top of bed categories, plus bedding support and ornamental beds. He will focus on specific national accounts, as well as assisting in the development of new channels which would include furniture stores and e-commerce. All three positions will report to Rob Woods, President of the CPG.
