Bernie & Phyl’s Furniture, one of the largest furniture retailers in New England, celebrated the opening of its new store in Hyannis, Massachusetts over Memorial Day weekend. The store, which is located at 20 Airport Road (across from the Cape Cod Mall), opened to rave reviews from hundreds of customers who came to experience Bernie & Phyl’s trademark “quality, comfort and price” firsthand. “We are thrilled to be in Hyannis and overwhelmed by the support of customers who are so happy to have us here. This is a new, untapped market for us and we are excited to be bringing our stylish furniture, reasonable prices, and exceptional customer service to the residents of Cape Cod and the islands,” said Larry Rubin, CEO of Bernie & Phyl’s Furniture. With a focus on high quality furniture at great prices, Bernie & Phyl’s has created a highly successful niche in a very competitive marketplace. Started by the Rubin family in 1983, the family-run business has grown from a small storefront into one of the most successful furniture retailers in the country. Earlier this month, Bernie & Phyl’s was named the Massachusetts Family Business of the Year in the large company category. Last year, the company received the prestigious Better Business Bureau’s Local Torch Award for Excellence (for the second time), which is given to companies that embody the highest ethical standards. Based in Norton, MA, Bernie & Phyl’s Furniture is the largest privately owned furniture retailer in Massachusetts. The family run business has six stores in New England: Braintree, MA; Hyannis, MA; Nashua, NH; Raynham, MA; Saugus, MA; and Westboro, MA. In 2002, the company was named “Retailer of the Year” by the National Home Furnishings Association, which is the highest honor in the retail home furnishings industry. The company ranks among the Top 100 furniture stores in the country according to Furniture/Today magazine.
