Bringing its volunteer leadership to full strength, National Home Furnishings Association (NHFA) has added four new members to the Board of Directors. They are: George Nader, Nader’s Furniture Stores, Gardena, Calif.; John Hamilton, The RoomStore Furniture, Richmond, Va.; Rick Haux, Sr., Super Stores of America, San Diego, Calif.; and Joe Quintal, Rotman’s Furniture, Worcester, Mass. NHFA President Doug Kays who appointed the new directors said that it is especially important now for the board to be at full strength as NHFA embarks on expanded programs and services on behalf of the membership. He mentioned specifically the recently launched Preferred Retailer Program, a national consumer campaign in conjunction with HGTV. NHFA is the nation’s largest trade organization for home furnishings retailers. The 88-year-old association, headquartered in High Point, N.C. serves home furnishings retailers in all 50 states, Canada and abroad. NHFA’s stated mission is “to provide our members with the information, education, products and services they need to remain successful.” Kays explained that the volunteer leadership is instrumental in formulating and implementing programs and activities to accomplish the mission objective. NHFA serves 2,750 corporate members representing 10,000 home furnishings stores.
