Western Home Furnishings Association’s (WHFA) announced that their upcoming Conference and Expo in Tucson, Ariz., May 18–20, will offer the home furnishings industry a unique charity event, fun in the sun and affordable travel options. To kick-off their all new Conference and Expo, WHFA has crafted a unique opening session called, Build-a-Bike and Learn to Build a Relationship with Your Community, which will inspire, motivate and bring together conference attendees. During this session participants will build 30 bikes which will later be donated to the Tucson Boys and Girls Club. While team-building with one another, attendees will learn about the benefits of building a relationship within their own communities. Hosted by three-time Emmy Award winner Jack Gallagher and sponsored by Powell Company, this not-to-be-missed session is sure to bring a smile to the faces of conference attendees and the children receiving new bikes. As a part of the all new conference format, WHFA has also added some exciting activities to get conference attendees out of their seats and having some fun. Attendees can come early and participate in WHFA’s Annual Golf Tournament, held at the Ventana Canyon Golf Course. This Tom Fazio-designed champion golf course winds through the canyons and arroyos of the spectacular Sonoran Desert preserve. Or, if golfing doesn’t spark an attendee’s interest, they can test their need for speed in the P1 Kart Racing activity or enjoy Tucson’s natural beauty and animals at the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum tour. Also on the jam-packed schedule are daily “Move” events which will get attendees’ hearts pumping and blood cells jumping before their first session or workshop. For the industry night owls, the Late Night Lounge, sponsored by American General Financial Services, will provide attendees with a place to lounge on cozy furniture provided by Aspenhome, mingle over their favorite cocktails, participate in the first annual Desert Idol karaoke contest or play a game of Wii.
