Oriental Accent, Inc. announced that it has increased its High Point Market Square showroom space to a total of 8,000 square feet. The company has been an major anchor exhibitor at Market Square since October 1986. In those 22 years both Oriental Accent and Market Square have grown significantly. Michael Yip, Vice President of Oriental Accent, credits the growth of Oriental Accent, Inc., the viability of the High Point Market, and the good relationship with MMPI/Market Square for his decision to expand their showroom space at this time. Oriental Accent, Inc. remains an anchor tenant at Market Square. Oriental Accent, Inc. has more than 125 years of experience as purveyors of fine hand crafted accessories, lighting and furniture. It is a Chinese family business headquartered in Dallas, Texas that traces its beginnings to P.K. Chow in Beijing, China in 1880. It. is the single largest source for fine hand-painted porcelains in a vast array of traditional designs and textures, fine hand-painted and handcrafted furniture and accessories, as well as collections of sophisticated upscale casual and modern product designs. Licensors include Mark Abrams Design, Art In Motion, Biltmore Estate, Colonial Williamsburg, Oscar de la Renta, and Winterthur Museum, Library and Garden. Oriental Accent entered into its first licensing agreement in 1995 and into its latest licensing agreement in 2006. During those 13 years Oriental Accent has had multi-year licensing agreements with more than 16 licensors. Showrooms are located in Atlanta, Dallas, High Point, Los Angeles and Las Vegas. Oriental Accent, Inc. is the 2008 winner of the ARTS Award in the Portable Lamp Division.
