ASID Illinois Chapter Elects 2007-8 Board Of Directors

The American Society of Interior Designers - Illinois Chapter (ASID-IL) announced its new Board of Directors for the 2007-08 fiscal year, which begins Oct. 1, 2007. The eight-member volunteer board is comprised of ASID-IL professional, allied and student members and industry partners. The Illinois Chapter is led by Chicago, Ill. resident James Landa, ASID, 2007-08 president and owner of Aquaworks, a bath/kitchen/design company. Landa represents the statewide ASID membership, serving its best interests while implementing the approved strategic plan for the chapter during the 2007-08 fiscal year. "We're eager and excited to begin our leadership roles and launch new initiatives in the year ahead. ASID is the largest interior design organization in Illinois with members practicing a variety of design specialties. Our affiliation and professionalism is the benchmark for design professionals in Illinois and nationwide. ASID members continue to educate and work with consumers, corporations and other professionals to show the importance of interior designers and their impact on daily lives of people everywhere," said Landa. The ASID-IL Chapter is a non-profit professional association representing the interests of more than 1,600 Illinois interior designers, students and design industry partner members. Its vision is to be the voice of design in Illinois and to provide information through quality, timely communications, to educate its members and clients, and to expand and to support market expansion. The Chapter is lead by a volunteer board that includes the Chapter's president, president-elect, 5 directors and a student representative. Huffhine is a student at Harrington College of Design in Chicago NEW ASID-IL CHAPTER ADMINISTRATOR ASID-IL also announced that Elizabeth Boaden is its full-time chapter administrator. Boaden will be responsible for running the organization's office, which includes carrying out day-to-day administrative projects, event planning and on-site coordination, and assisting with existing and new-member programs. Previously Boaden worked for Z Hudson Design of Chicago, Ill., an independently owned interior design firm. Boaden received her bachelor of science in interior design from Bowling Green State University in Ohio. Boaden is based in the Chapter's headquarters in The Merchandise Mart, Suite 1647. "Elizabeth brings a great level of understanding to the interior design profession, and can better serve the chapter's needs because of her solid background and passion for the field. Her attention to detail and skill set are perfect for ASID. She's a wonderful addition to our team, and we are proud to welcome her," added Landa.
