Powell Co. is expanding their successful incentive program to allow customers placing qualifying orders during High Point Market a choice of a laptop computer or the hot new iPhone. The promotion celebrates success of the company’s innovative Powell Retailers Online program, or PowellPRO, which gives wholesale and retail customers ready access to a host of information on Powell products from any computer or Internet-accessible mobile phone. The case goods, accent and occasional furniture importer reported having a record-breaking Vegas Market in July, which it attributes to both new product introductions and dealer interest in PowellPRO. With a new LittleMissMatched™ licensed youth collection set to debut at High Point, along with introductions in every product category, including casual dining and a significant offering of new hand painted accents in Masterpiece, the company is expecting even more success. “The iPhone seemed like a natural item to add to our incentive program,” said Tom Liddell, senior vice president of national sales for Powell. “There’s been so much excitement about the iPhone because it allows customers to do everything in one place — check email, access the Web, make phone calls — it’s the most advanced phone out there, and yet it’s easy to use. The portable computer features a 160GB hard drive with 1GB of RAM and a dual core processor, along with a DVD writer, integrated camera, 5-in-1 card reader and wireless capabilities.
