American Furniture Hall Of Fame Extends Nominations To August 1st

The American Furniture Hall of Fame Foundation Inc. (AFHF) is extending nominations for induction to August 1, 2007. Only members of the organization are eligible to nominate, second and vote. “We are targeting leaders who have made notable contributions to the health and wealth of the American furniture industry,” says J. Don Coleman, president of AFHF. To make a nomination, members should submit a biography (500 words or less) of the nominee, along with a completed nomination form, and a black and white or color photo of the candidate. Nominations submitted without photography will be accepted, however, photography is necessary before moving forward with the induction process. All nominations must be seconded in writing by another AFHF member. Candidates may be nominated and elected posthumously. There is a one-time nomination fee of $500 to cover photography and video production costs. There is no charge for re-nomination from previous years. The voting period begins August 20, and ends September 5. New members will be announced and officially inducted into the American Furniture Hall of Fame at the annual banquet celebration on October 2 at the High Point Market. A list of American Furniture Hall of Fame Members and biographies of these important men and women from the retailing, manufacturing, importing, representative and supply segments of the furniture industry can also be viewed on the site. Memberships are $250 and $500 at the individual level, and $500 and $1,000 at the corporate level. All contributions are tax deductible.
