W.S. Badcock Board of Directors Announces New Vice Presidents

The W.S. Badcock Corporation Board of Directors has announced the promotion of two new vice presidents. Lori Walsh – VP of Human Resources Lori Walsh has been promoted to Vice President of Human Resources. Walsh joined the corporation in November of 1999 as a Human Resources Project Manager and assumed the position of Director of Human Resources in June of 2003. During her six years with the corporation, Walsh developed and managed the compensation and benefits programs; introduced the MBO (Management By Objective) Bonus Program; restructured the HR department and established Generalists for designated employee groups. Walsh also developed focal point review dates for each of these areas; spearheaded the application which has led to the corporation winning both the “Spirit of Family” and “Best Places to Work” awards for two years; was instrumental in integrating HR, Payroll and Accounting computer information systems; and has diligently aligned the HR function as an integral part of the corporate strategic plan. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology from the University of Illinois and Master of Science degree in Human Resource Management and Development from National-Lewis University. Walsh is also a Certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR), a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) and was named HR Professional of the Year in June 2004 by Mid-Florida Society of Human Resources Management. Mark Chase – VP of Bedding Mark Chase has been promoted to Vice President of Bedding. Although only joining the corporation as a Category Manager a little over a year ago, Chase has exceeded all expectations of sales growth, increased visibility and generated margin for the Bedding Division. Through his preparation and coordination of marketing plans, he has built, developed, and implemented a distinct bedding strategy to ensure product growth objectives are met. This strategy has accomplished a 16% sales growth for his category. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Maine at Orono. A 16-year veteran in the industry, Chase has an outstanding knowledge and proven track record in the bedding category. He previously served as Vice President of Sales for Serta, where he more than doubled factory sales, and also served as Director of Business Development for Barber Manufacturing. About Badcock W.S.
