Cornerstone Health Care providers will continue to provide free minor medical care to the visitors to the October 2006 Market in cooperation with High Point Regional Health System and the High Point Market. James C. Anderson, MD, Vice-President of Cornerstone Health Care and founder and manager of the project, confirmed that care will again be provided from the Hospital's HOPE Unit, which will be parked in a central location on Wrenn Street, behind the Radisson Hotel. Cornerstone providers will man the 44-foot-long bus-like health care facility from 10 am until 5 pm, Monday, October 16 through and including Sunday, October 24. The minor medical care program was introduced in October, 2003 with the number of patients treated increasing each market. According to Brian Casey, President of the High Point Market Authority, the service represents a valuable benefit, “By providing free minor medical care to our out-of -town visitors, Cornerstone Health Care and High Point Regional Health System help those who may become ill away from their family doctors get back to business quickly through convenient, compassionate care.” He added that he was unaware of any other trade shows in the home furnishings industry that provide this type of service and support for attendees. Medical care providers will be prepared to treat headache, cough, ear ache, vomiting/diarrhea, rashes, sinusitis, stomach ache, conjunctivitis, bladder infection, allergy symptoms and other minor conditions. Patients with more serous complaints may be referred to local specialists or the Emergency Center at High Point Regional Hospital.
