Sleep Country USA Announces Vancouver, WA Store Opening

Sleep Country USA, the Northwest’s largest seller of premium mattresses, announced its newest store has opened in Vancouver, Washington. Carrying on a tradition established this year, Sleep Country USA celebrates this story opening by welcoming the community to participate in its “Princess and the Pea” event, which gives customers a chance to win a $1,000 Sleep Country USA gift certificate. Sleep Country USA’s “Princess and the Pea” event is based on the original story by Hans Christian Andersen in which a prince attempts to determine if a late night visitor to his castle is a true princess by placing a pea under the 20 mattresses she sleeps upon. In the morning, the girl confesses she did not sleep well because the bed was uncomfortable and therefore proves that she is a true princess because she is sensitive enough to have felt the presence of the pea. On October 1, 2006, Sleep Country USA invites members of its Vancouver community to visit the new store at 16621 SE Mill Plain Blvd, and participate in the “Princess and the Pea” contest by guessing which mattress on the showroom floor is lying on top of a “pea.” With the doors opening at 11a.m, customers will have until 6p.m to make their best guess and be entered to win the contest.
