Gene Rosenberg, co-founder of top 100 retailer, Bob's Discount Furniture, and leading planned promotion specialist, Planned Furniture Promotions, Inc. (PFP), an affiliate Of Gene Rosenberg Associates, LLC; along with his wife Anja, have made a $3 million leadership gift to the Hebrew Health Center’s “Second Century Campaign: Caring for Generations." The gift, the largest in the campaign, will be commemorated by the renaming of the main building on the Hebrew Health Center Campus as the Gene and Anja Rosenberg Hebrew Home and Hospital.
Established in 1901, Hebrew Health Care and its affiliates is a leading, non-sectarian provider of hospital and geriatric services in the Greater Hartford, Connecticut area.
Gene and Anja Rosenberg are long time members of the Hartford Community and very active in civic and charitable activities. Anja has been active on the Hebrew Home and Hospital team, serving as a volunteer for over 7 years. Born in Sweden and a graduate of Central Connecticut State University, Anja is also on the board of the Jewish Family Services, the Farmington Valley Arts Council, and others. Gene, who attended the University of Connecticut and Hillyer College, is on the board of Big Brothers and Big Sisters, The Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford and others. He helped establish the Bob's Discount Furniture Charitable Foundation, which has raised over a million dollars for children's charities, in the last five years.
