According to the Metropolital Furnishings Association (metrofa@onebox.com), Anthony J. Spitaleri, Jr. succumbed to cancer after a courageous battle. He was 78. Mr. Spitaleri was retired from Spitaleri Furniture in South River, which was founded by his father, Anthony J. Sr., in 1905. He is survived by his sister, Carmella Gendlek; son, Anthony (Skeeter) J. III and his wife, Jill; daughter, Estella; and four grandchildren, Jennifer, Anthony J. IV, Justina and Shane. There will be a viewing on Tuesday, May 30th, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 at Maliszewski’s Funeral Home on Whitehead Avenue in South River. Funeral services will begin at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 31st, at 10:30.
