Aaron Rents, Inc., a leader in the rental, sales and lease ownership, specialty retailing and rental of residential and office furniture, consumer electronics, home appliances and accessories, announced another furniture donation made in conjunction with Homes for the Holidays, a charitable program founded by NFL player Warrick Dunn that provides deserving single mothers with a completely furnished home. At the event in Mesa, Arizona Cardinals Quarterback Kurt Warner surprised single mother of two Jewel Ochoa with her new home that was filled in every room with furniture, appliances and electronics from Aaron's Sales & Lease Ownership. According to President Ken Butler, "Aaron's is both humbled and honored by the opportunity to take part in this year's Homes for the Holidays donations. We are proud to have donated enough furniture to completely fill nine homes and help nine families embark on the next chapter of their lives. We plan to continue our relationship with Warrick Dunn and support the phenomenal work he and the other NFL players complete on behalf of the Homes for the Holidays campaign." Ms. Ochoa, the recipient of latest Homes for the Holidays donation, is a 41-year old single mother of two teenage children in Mesa. She earned her home with the help of Housing for Mesa, a local non-profit agency, after completing the Maricopa County Section-8 Family Self-Sufficiency program. While working to complete the program, Ms. Ochoa was able to earn her bachelor's degree and is currently employed as a teacher in the Mesa area. Homes for the Holidays looks for deserving single mothers across the country and then helps them acquire a home and furnish it with everything their family needs, right down to a fully-stocked pantry. Since NFL player Warrick Dunn founded the charity in 1998, more than 50 families have been recipients of this program. Recently, The Sporting News designated Warrick Dunn as its 2005 Good Guy in pro sports, mainly for his charitable work helping single mothers acquire and outfit homes for their families.
