American Home Furnishings Alliance Elects 2006 Officers

Robert Maricich, president and chief executive officer of Century Furniture Industries, Hickory, N.C., was elected president of the American Home Furnishings Alliance during the organization’s Annual Meeting Nov. 17-19, in Lake Las Vegas, Nev. Bruce Lauritsen, president of Flexsteel Industries Inc., DuBuque, Iowa, was elected first vice president, and Paul Toms, chairman and chief operating officer of Hooker Furniture, Martinsville, Va., was elected second vice president. Rob Sligh, chairman and chief executive officer of Sligh Furniture Co., Holland, Mich., moves to chairman of the AHFA Board of Directors. The officers will assume their new posts on January 1. Members newly elected to serve a three-year term on the AHFA Board of Directors include Tom Foy, Furniture Brands International, Tupelo, Miss.; Allan Palecek, Palecek, Richmond, Calif.; Larry Quilling, Guildcraft of California, Rancho Dominguez, Calif.; Mark Romeo, Cox Manufacturing, Hildebran, N.C.; Buddy Spradlin, Riverside Furniture Corp., Fort Smith, Ark.; Bob Stec, Lexington Home Brands, Lexington, N.C.; Henry Vanderminden, Telescope Casual Furniture, Granville, N.Y.; Taylor Vaughan, Vaughan Furniture, Galax, Va.; Todd Wanek, Ashley Furniture Inds., Arcadia, Wisc.; Doug Williams, Hooker Furniture, Martinsville, Va.; and Bill Wittenburg, Berkline/Benchcraft, Morristown, Tenn.
