Capel Reports Attendance In High Point Increased 15%

Capel Incorporated, America's oldest and largest privately-owned manufacturer and importer of area rugs, reported a 15% increase in attendance and a 59% increase in orders at this year's October High Point Furniture Market. "In spite of a thinly attended market in general,"said Eric Birnbach, President and CEO, "Capel, because of its reputation as the industry leader in service and the price/value relationship, was rewarded with outstanding attendance and a remarkable amount of written business." "Capel strives to create a selection of rugs that take the lead in decorating trends," said Bud Young, Vice President of Marketing. "Capel approaches the design process with a different focus, developing products that coordinate with any home lifestyle in terms of both color and design." Capel debuted more than 200 new rugs, including new collections from licensees Biltmore for Your Home®, Bob Timberlake® and Williamsburg®. Approximately 40% of Capel's new introductions were contemporary.
