Bassett Furniture unveiled a new collection for the Elway Home by Bassett line. Elway Home New American Retreat dining room, living room, and bedroom set will be on display to the Furniture Market trade at the IHFC Building, 12th floor, Commerce Wing. Designs are inspired from the historic architecture and furnishings found in retreat destinations in Colorado and America’s great outdoors. All of the decorative hardware for Elway Home New American Retreat was designed exclusively. Inspirations for came from 19th-Century dry goods and hardware store in historic Leadville, Colorado served as models for new metal re-strikes. The grand scaling of Elway Home New American Retreat furniture pieces offers a dramatic silhouette that is both traditional and eclectic, with a touch of warmth in the detailing. The cabinetry features handsomely distressed oak solids and highly figured cherry veneers in a rich antique patina that adds authentic character. Detailing throughout Elway Home New American Retreat includes: marquetry inlayed wood; natural slate with sunset to earth tone colors; embossed leather patterned from antique saddles; hand-forged wrought iron; traditional and western style nail heads; Native American inspired motifs; and braided leather.Elway Home New American Retreat dining room furniture pieces include a china hutch and a dramatic 76” long dining room table with additional leaves that can extend to 112”. There are two dining chair styles, an upholstered back chair, and a host chair with a 44-inch high hand carved, scrolled wood back. For the living room or bedroom, there is a spectacular leather front armoire interpreted from an antique armoire, dated to around 1850. A high-country trunk was inspired by an old Spanish Colonial chest found in the basement of a Denver antique shop. An early Spanish colonial table found in New Mexico served to inspire the collection’s splayed table piece. Elway Home New American Retreat living room choices also include a chest with faux twig drawer fronts that was inspired by the great retreat lodges of the early 1900s, when regional craftsmen used twigs as decorative elements in the furniture. Additionally, there is an irresistible horn bench designed just as those made in Texas near the turn of the century. Landscape mirrors, poster bed, and gentleman’s chest are just a few of the highlights from the Elway Home New American Retreat bedroom collection. The gentleman’s chest features felt-lined top drawers including hidden storage, jewelry tray, and cedar lined bottom drawers. There is also a two-piece armoire that is an impressive 83” inches tall. This piece can be a wardrobe with its optional coat bar, or an entertainment armoire that allows full fold back for easy TV viewing.
