Rooms To Go (RTG), has donated $1 million to the American Red Cross to be used exclusively for Hurricane Katrina relief efforts. According to the Florida-based company's President & CEO Jeffrey Seaman, "Many of us at Rooms To Go, especially those associates at locations in Florida, have seen our share of hurricanes, but the scale of death, damage, and displacement from Katrina is truly mind-boggling. This donation is one way we can help the victims of this terrible storm and its aftermath." This $1 million donation is only the beginning. The company plans to work in conjunction with several other relief efforts to determine how Rooms To Go can help with donations and furniture. "The American Red Cross is mounting the most ambitious response to a natural disaster in our considerable history," said Marsha J. Evans, Red Cross President and CEO of the American Red Cross. "Such an effort is only possible with the timely and generous support of good corporate citizens such as Rooms To Go." The donation is being made on behalf of all of the Rooms To Go associates. The company has locations in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas. For more information contact Phanalphie Rhue or Denada Jackson at 336-884-0744.
