Fourth Generation Has Joined Standard Furniture, Birmingham, AL

Standard Furniture President Stuart Shevin recently announced that Jacob Shevin has joined the Birmingham, AL based home furnishings retailer. Standard Furniture operates 15 promotional full line home furnishings stores in Alabama and Tennessee. Jacob is the fourth generation of the family to be associated with the company over the past 93 years. He recently graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in Business Administration. Having worked in various stores over the past few years, he will be training at the central office in Birmingham in all aspects of the business, beginning with advertising. Mr. Shevin, stated that "It is with great pleasure that I announce that my son Jacob will be working at Standard Furniture. Needless to say, I am truly excited that Jacob has decided to come on board with us and what this means to the future of this company. I can only hope that all of you will give him the same support that everyone gave me when I started here a few years back."
