Furniture Legend Tom Broyhill Speaks to Generational Retail Leaders

Tom Broyhill, a name synonymous with home furnishings and a legend in the retail industry, will participate in the Western Home Furnishings Association’s (WHFA) Fast Forward program, slated for April 6 at the Tuscany Suites & Casino. Fast Forward is WHFA’s newest offering designed to develop generational, forward-thinking leaders in the home furnishings retail industry. The program aims to prepare retailers for the challenges that lie ahead of them and provides a forum for assisting emerging leaders in meeting those challenges head-on. Program content includes a variety of topics designed to provide the tools retailers will need to succeed in an ever-increasing competitive market. “Tom’s participation in Fast Forward demonstrates that this kind of progressive program is not only wanted, but needed in the industry,” said WHFA Executive Director Sharron Bradley. Mr. Broyhill will participate in a “Best Practices Forum” with other prominent family-owned business representatives. Each will discuss their successful transition from “kitchen table management” to the substantial enterprises they have today. Participants are invited to pose questions and share their challenges and concerns with the forum. Robert Wendover, Director of the Center for Generational Studies, will serve as program facilitator. For nearly 20 years Mr. Wendover has worked with organizations in industry, education and government on intergenerational challenges and other management issues.
