Rug Manufacturer & Importer Capel To Open Las Vegas Showroom

Capel Incorporated, manufacturer and importer of area rugs since 1917, announced plans to open a showroom at the World International Furnishings Center in Las Vegas this May. After showing with success at the Surfaces Las Vegas Market, the company is ready to expand with a permanent showroom for year-round business. “Having visited the new World Market Center in Las Vegas last week, we came away extremely impressed with the site, the building and construction,” stated A. Leon Capel, Jr., Executive Director of Capel Incorporated. “It should make for a satisfying and triumphant experience to all those anxiously awaiting its initial grand opening. For us, the building will be a great asset to those home furnishing enthusiasts who, for whatever reason, cannot visit markets on the East coast. The showroom will be open year round for business for all Capel customers and prospective new clients. ” During the visit last week, Vice President of Sales Allen Robertson and Leon Capel were given a personal on-site tour by General Manager Dave Palmer. The building has a design appeal from the exterior, and inside features contemporary details like an arched cascading waterfall encircling two escalators in the Hugh Lobby outside the entrance to the Capel showroom. The Center also houses a VIP Lounge, restaurants, and elevators and escalators to all floors, enabling attendees to enjoy comfortable settings and move through the wide halls quickly. Currently, the World Market Center occupies over 2.3 million square feet of space. Upon completion of the project, it will encompass 7.5 million square feet and will be the largest, most comprehensive home furnishings showroom and convention complex in the West. Capel's permanent showroom, located in space 226, is over four thousand square feet and will feature the entire Capel line with an emphasis on exclusive contemporary rugs developed with Western themes in mind. Capel also plans to continue to exhibit yearly at the Surfaces Market as well. The new Capel showroom will be easily accessible to 125,000 hotel rooms within five miles, and 15 minutes from Las Vegas International Airport, 10 minutes from strip hotels and directly across from downtown hotels. Capel recently attended the 2005 Surfaces market, and business was better than ever. “Our attendance was more than double that of prior years,” stated Allen Robertson. “We had great success with new contemporary collections as well as our traditional lines.
